Our client sough to better understand the flood constraint affecting their land, with a view to then conceptualizing appropriate development opportunities for the land. The Club engaged Rienco Consulting to carry out a preliminary flood modelling scope of works to quantify the existing constraint and identify opportunities.

Flood behaviour at the site is complex and has only been studied previously using much older and simplistic methodologies. Flood behaviour has been recently changed throughout Berry by the RMS’s Berry Bypass, which has some important benefits for Berry (in terms of reduced flood affectation) but not necessarily so for our clients land.

Rienco developed hydrologic (WBNM) and hydraulic (TUFLOW) models to quantify design flood behaviour at the site. We are continuing to work through the opportunities with the client.
